Begin again.

“Every moment is a fresh beginning” - T.S. Eliot.
We all have things we want to do. Projects, habits, goals. Things that remind us we are growing, or learning, or creating something meaningful. Yet no matter how motivated we are, there will always be things left undone. That's part of being human.
Most of the time, that's okay. Because we prioritize what matters most. But some unfinished goals stick with us. The course we wanted to finish. The friend we keep meaning to text/call. The yoga practice we badly want to return to. A hobby we wanted to pick up.
To complete or to accept.
According to the Zeigarnik Effect, unfinished goals take up mental space (Zeigarnik Effect, 2025). They don't just disappear. They live rent-free in the back of our minds. They distract us from doing our best.
So, with the awareness, we get to choose: to accept incompletion (maybe it doesn't matter that much), or to finish what still matters to us. Both choices are valid. Both restore a sense of control and freedom.
If we decide to continue the goal, the question is when.
Next week? Next month? Next year? Mindfulness practice teaches us that every breath, every moment, is an invitation to begin again. It's not about perfection. It's about returning to what matters, and to ourselves.
So, this is my invitation to myself, and perhaps to you too:
Any time you think you are ready to pick up again.
Any time your heart feels ready.
Just Breathe. In and out.
Begin again.
